- Chula Vistans Can Save Money (& Energy) By Buying New Appliances Locally |

On April 22nd, the statewide Cash for Appliances Program begins. This program offers mail-in rebates up to $200 for high efficiency refrigerators, clothes washers, and room air conditioners. The energy-saving new appliances must replace existing appliances which are disposed through a certified recycler.
Community members, who buy an elgible appliance from a Chula Vista store and install the appliance at a Chula Vista address, can receive an additional $20 instant rebate through the new Chula Vista Appliance Exchange Rebate Program sponsored by the City of Chula Vista and the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce. Participating local appliance stores include:
- Best Buy (Otay Ranch Town Center or South Bay Marketplace)
- The Home Depot (Rancho del Rey or EastLake Terraces)
- K-Mart (Rancho del Rey)
- Sears (Chula Vista Center)
