Explorers

The Chula Vista Police Explorer Post 831 was established in 1968. The purpose of the program is to acquaint young people, ages 14 -21, with the objectives of police in our community and to instill and promote sound morals, ethical conduct, and respect for law and order. The Explorer Post is similar to the Police Reserve Organization. Once accepted, members are required to attend a training academy during their first year of acceptance.

Explorer Explorer

The eight-day annual Explorer Academy is staffed by the San Diego County Law Enforcement Advisor's Association. The Explorers generally meet at the Chula Vista Police Department on the second and fourth Monday of every month (excluding holidays) at 7:00 pm. Meetings are scheduled for two hours and whenever possible, will consist of a one-hour business and a one hour period of instruction in some phase of Law Enforcement. For further information contact Agent Eric Nava at (619) 691-5151.
