Acting Captain Lon Turner is currently the Administrative Services Manager at the Chula Vista Police Department.
Captain Turner began his law enforcement career with the Chula Vista Police Department as an Explorer Scout.
Captain Turner has extensive experience in investigations, task force operations, criminal intelligence and long-term conspiracy investigations.
Captain Turner has instructed courses with the California Narcotics Officers Association (CNOA), at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, and at local colleges. He has written several articles that have been published in law enforcement magazines on cross border crime and conspiracy cases. He has twenty-two years of sworn law enforcement experience, is a lifetime member of CNOA and holds a masters degree in Public Administration.
Captain Turner graduated from POST Command College - Class 49, in September 2011 and was the recipient of the peer nominated Hank Koehn most inspirational student award. He is also a graduate of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Leadership Program and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Drug Unit Commander’s Course - Class 71.
