| Chula Vista MTS Service Reductions - Effective February 28, 2010 |

On February 28, 2010, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will implement changes to its bus routes and schedules and trolley schedules. The changes are primarily reductions to Sunday services, which are described below.
The reductions are made necessary by the elimination of State Transit Assistance funding by the State of California, a slow economy that has reduced sales tax revenue and lower ridership and fair revenues. After thorough analysis of ridership, MTS determined that changes to its Sunday network or services would impact the fewest riders. The changes are designed to keep intact as much of the core services as possible and to maintain public transportation alternatives for as many riders as possible.
Changes include some trip discontinuations, frequency reductions, and route changes on Sundays and on other days.
