All of the following support services are offered in collaboration with local non-profit agencies and volunteers. All are located at the Norman Park Senior Center.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING
Room 6 Fridays 8:30 am -11 am
Sponsored by the American Red Cross at Norman Park Senior Center. Free.

 

GREATER SAN DIEGO MEALS ON WHEELS

Meal delivery for homebound seniors and disabled adults that live in South County.

SAN DIEGO HOSPICE BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT
Thursdays 1 - 2:30 pm
A professionally facilitated, bereavement support group for people who have experienced the death of a loved one. Adults are invited to come and share thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

 

SAN DIEGO CENTER FOR THE BLIND AND VISION IMPAIRED SUPPORT GROUP

Community Action to Reach the Elderly
FREE or low cost products and services that benefit seniors and adults with disabilities, who live alone. Our goal is to aid these individuals to be safe and independent as long as they are able. Components include:

  • ARE YOU OKAY?
    A weekday telephone call, reassurance program.
  • GATEKEEPER & POSTAL ALERT
    Meter readers, refuse collectors, and letter carriers are trained to recognize signs that indicate trouble, then report it.
  • SAFE RETURN
    Identifies, and aides in locating persons with dementia who wander and become lost.
  • VIAL OF LIFE
    A health and medical information box to help manage emergency aid, if needed.
