You may allow others to use your library card, but you are responsible for all materials borrowed. |

You will need to have your Chula Vista Public Library card with you to check out materials. |

What do I do if my card is lost or stolen? |

are responsible for all materials borrowed on your library card, so
please report lost cards promptly. Replacement cards can be obtained at
any Chula Vista Public Library for a $2.00 fee. |

How do I pay a fine online? |
|
 |
You will need:
· Your Library Card number
· Your Password or PIN
· A major credit card
Click Log into your Account and follow the instructions. If you have forgotten your PIN the system will clear your old PIN and within 60 seconds notify you through the email address you provided when you got your card. Then you can create a new PIN.
Once you get into your account you should see a list of items you currently have checked out and the associated fines. At the top corners of this table you should see a “pay online” icon. Click that item, fill out the form and submit. Please wait - this may take serveral seconds.
When the transaction is completed you will see a statement “Thank you for your payment” and you will get an email receipt. If you have any difficulties call your local branch during open hours.

May I return library materials to another library? |

Chula Vista Public Library materials may be returned to any
Chula Vista Public Library branch. |
|

The library offers Computers and Internet access. |

Do you offer computer classes? |
|
 |
Free computer classes are sometimes offered at the Civic Center and South Chula Vista
branches. Please call or check the Calendar for information on current classes. |

How do I suggest a purchase for the Library? |

The best way to suggest a purchase is to log into your Account, select the "Suggest a Purchase" link at the top or bottom menu bar and complete the form. You can also simply send us an email using the contact us link. |

How do I renew my library materials? |

You can renew items by-
Calling our automated renewal system at
(619) 409-5957 or by
online through the Chula Vista Public Library catalog. Click on Login to Your Account,enter your name, library card number, PIN, and click on Submit.
All materials are renewable except
items requested and showing on "hold" for other guest.s

How do I place a hold on library materials? |
|
 |
You may place any items except on hold by telephone or online.
To place items on hold online, visit the Chula Vista Public Library catalog.
1)Locate the item in the catalog you would like to request
2)Click on the Request
button
3)Enter your name, library card number, PIN, and click on Submit
4)From the drop-down menu, choose a pickup
location and click on Submit
You will be
notified by the library when the item is available for you.
To place items on hold by telephone call the branch which owns the item. A staff member will check the
shelves at that time and retrieve the item, and the item will be held
for you at the Checkout Desk for 24 hours.
