Chula Vista's City Manager is the executive officer of the City and is appointed by the City Council. The Administration Department, headed by the City Manager, includes the two Assistant City Managers. This department is responsible for the proper administration of all affairs of the City of Chula Vista, including day-to-day operations.
The Office of the City Manager provides the leadership and supervision that, in turn,
implements the policies and decisions of the Chula Vista City Council;
thereby ensuring the delivery of services to our community.
Office of Communications
Now a division under the City Manager, the Office of Communications is responsible for effectively sharing information about Chula Vista's programs, activities and events with residents, businesses, visitors, community organizations and other regional institutions through news releases, media advisories, and various marketing materials.
The Office of Communications manages block party and special event permits and produces the Community Connection Newsletter. They are also responsible for broadcasting City Council meetings on Wednesdays at 7 pm on Cox Cable's channel 24 (in Chula Vista only), and on NexHorizon Cable on channel 68.
